WITH MAY BEING A GEMINI MONTH, WE HAVE TWIN UMVUZO WINNERS
WE HAVE TWIN UMUZO WINNERS! AND THEY ARE
Nominated by John Short, Shaun Starke and Captain Andre van Deventer
We would like to nominate Dave Scott for the Umvuzo award.
A few weeks ago, ZS-OKN went AOG due to DPU failure and Dave was still on leave. We experienced challenges with Visas and asked Dave to return back from leave to take parts to ZS-OKN.
Even though he just arrived in Dwaalboom with his family for their holiday, he did not hesitate for one second when we asked whether he could assist.
He immediately availed himself to do the parts run for us. His family time and holidays were sacrificed for his work commitments. He was further supposed to start his contract in five days’ time, but further recommended that he stay in Muanda for his six weeks contract as that would save the company on extra costs for his tickets.
Not only did he sacrifice his holiday time, but also additional time with his family before leaving them for six weeks. His commitment to the company is extraordinary and I strongly believe that we should recognize this.
Chante de Meyer
Nominated by Judy Joubert
I would like to nominate Chante De Meyer this month.
Chante is a great asset at Rand Airport, She is doing everything you can think off. Be it packing files for Metrofile to be archived or serving coffee to visitors and customers, Chante is there. Assisting in the preparation for Training School to be moved across the road, guess who is running around? Debtors, Creditors, the Cash Book, you name it, she is just always available. She deserves to win the Umvuzo as appreciation from all of us at Rand for always walking the extra mile. Darryl and Chante went to visit the BDF to collect outstanding funds of $700k. She needed to use the bathroom, and was told to go and fetch her own water, as the toilets don’t automatically flush.
Africa is not a place for sissies!!!
Congratulations! Enjoy your R 1000 a off to spent it!
